Try reading "Utopia in Power", it's a canny read and some excellent insights into the imperial powers attitudes towards the Bolsheviks.

Gave a massive amount of help to the Whites in the Civil War and they still lost.

30/40k people.

Yeah I've done a bit about previous relations, and the whole thing with Japan and the likes. Now I'm doing about this and fuck me it is boring.

How can something that influenced world politics for over 70 years be f***ing boring? you've lost me there.

Try researching the Zinoviev letter and it's provenance that should get you a good few pages.

Yeah I have some research on the letter to put in the British Communist Party bit.

I don't find the subject boring, pal. Big thing, the rise of Communist and all, it's just some of the stuff I have to do to get through this.

Currently have 30 documents open from the national archives about 'Radical agents' in british territory, each around 50 pages long. Scanning them for any mention of Russia. Joys.

same with anything though, do it in so much detail for to long and you get sick of it.

Chris wants to think himself lucky that he's not got 12,000 words to write on transported convicts and how representative they were of British migrants during the eighteenth century. Now that really is boring :-(

Your own fault, you chose the question!

Wish I'd made my dissertation on something fun.

5 sections, 2000 words each, plus an introduction and conclusion. Just keep at it and try tie it up with some thread of an argument at the end.
