"At least Del boy had one of the worst squads in championship history to have to contend with....mcgivern bates fontaine wilson mcmanus foster morris woolford etc....
LJ has the backing both financially and knowledge wise with a much improved scouting system, not to mention the money."

"LJ has been backed in the market more than any other manager in the Lansdown era. Failing big time."

Given he's relatively young and given the job he's done at Aberdeen, I'd like to think he's a manager who is on the up and prepared to learn from his mistakes. I think he'll do a good job personally and there's plenty room for optimism. Why be anything but until there's a reason to be?

"When he came to Ashton Gate it was clear from the start that he was totally out of his depth in the Championship his tactics were all wrong & his signings we not good enough for the championship he totally underestimated the quality & was completely unprepared for Championship football but who knows he may have learned his lesson but it was exactly the same story with Neil Lennon Bolton do not underestimate Championship Football it is the 4th best league in the world."

Does Bristol have a f***ing punctuation shortage?

Manager's do learn and develop in their careers. Looks like we've gone and got one who is on the up in their career. Actually paying compensation for him , because he's done well. Also it seems like it was a tough job at Bristol and he did ok anyway. They haven't done anything since he left as well.

I think he's a good appointment. But, how well he does will be largely based on how well we buy. He'll have a decent amount of time and a far better wage and transfer budget than he's been used to. Hope he spends it wisely.

Lots of managers have a rough start and have to pick themselves back up again. I'd rather have someone with a clear idea of what went wrong last time at this level - and a successful job since. Nobody is perfect, we're not in a position to attract 'perfect' managers, so I think we just get behind him, but the scepticism to one side and give him 'proper' backing and patience.

Not at all, but to dismiss another fans opinion when they have had 1st hand experience (and a bad one at that) would be Naive. I hope he's learned from his mistakes when he moved to Aberdeen and we're getting a better manager now compared to what he was at Bristol City.

Villa fans warned us about MON, they were proved right....
Mag and Wistham fans warned us about BSA

I saw 4th best league in the world & stopped reading i just cant take anything serious from somebody that thinks the championship is the 4th best league in the world just :lol::lol:
