Bring on the moyes

Not being funny - but why does that matter?
I think that allardyce showed what can be done when you get the spirit right. Moyes has previous for falling out with first teamers and those behind the scenes. Kevin Sheedy couldn't wait to see the back of him. We need a unifying figure - albeit not a pushover.

I'd have picked moyes rather than Sam before we appointed him if given the choice so although I'm disappointed he's gone I think we have the ideal replacement.

Oh it matters mate. Especially at club where we are often struggling.

The morale of players and fans is so much better if the manager is positive.

It's really the only complaint I have with Moyes, but the mention of Martinez was so scary I'd welcome Moyes with open arms.

Three years ago, if you'd have told me that either David Moyes or Sam Allardyce was going to be Sunderland manager at the start of the 2016/17 season, I'd have jumped all over the shop if I'd been told it was Moyes.

But Allardyce also had previous for falling out with players behind the scenes - like when they wouldn't give in to his pressure to sign up with his own agent.

All managers will fall out with players on occasion - you don't sustain what Everton did under Moyes, for so long, with so little relative spend, without being able to get players playing for you.

Seriously though, if we got a manager who delivered a decade of top half football, one top four finish and several European campaigns, Sunderland would be bouncing. Look at how much we got stuck into avoiding relegation and a league cup run. The one thing we'd not have to worry about is not enough positive atmosphere around the place.

But he got Everton playing for him.

I have no idea what David Moyes is like in the dressing room, but I know he did well with Everton, year in, year out.

I just think there is a rush to judge managers these days on their media persona or their press conferences - it's a skill that Allardyce mastered, and probably why he is about to be appointed as England manager with the worst CV of any England manager in history.

Aye he did like tbh.
