Hypothetical of course, but do you think Roy Keanes tenure may have been prolonged with Brian Kidd at his side? Probably exactly what he needed instead of an old mate with little high level experience
 
Dont see why it would have helped.

Keanes downfall is his man management. Judging by the signings he made it appears that he either has no scouting network or doesnt trust his scouts and will only sign players who he knows personally.

He could have helped Keane develop his man management skills

On a side note, I think Keane's signings were players he hadn't played with
