Brentford season ticket holders yellow card system

Sounds ridiculous, so many reasons why you might not attend a match, as stated previously, they are picking a fight for no reason

Small stadium and waiting list so understandable but shame for folk who pay their well earned cash but have work commitments every other week or so.

Probably have the ridiculous spectacle now of someone's friend or family member taking their ticket down to the ground, scanning it, and pushing the turnstile around without going in, just to tick a box.

If people pay for that seat, it's their right to decide when they sit in it.

Brentford must be struggling for income for FFP?
It would make minimal difference for FFP since the season card holder gets the pro rata ticket price. All Brentford would get would be any additional sales of food etc on the day which a) are likely contracted out anyway and b) are going to be miniscule in terms of effect on FFP.

A lot more likely is that they're just anxious to keep as many people involved as possible. Either in case they go down, or in case they move to a new ground and need to sell seats. If you can never (or hardly ever) attend, you might not get that connection with the club. This means for most games there'll be ample opportunity for new fans to come along

Just think of the money the club can generate by selling that ticket on an exchange and if it’s a tourist, all that money in the club shop on tat, too. That’s all it is. Empty seats generate no money, it’s not about atmosphere but coin in the clubs coffers.

For many at SAFC you'd only need to attend 12 or 13 games to make a SC cheaper than match by match.

For a bairn it's only 3 or 4.
Until 2016 I got a season ticket every season even if I only made it to 5 or 6 games as it worked out cheaper and guaranteed a ticket for mags game etc. Season tickets were much cheaper then if you were below 30 just bought an under 22s and never once had it questioned even as I reached late 20s

Im pretty sure ive read somewhere that Man U do the same. You have to use your ticket or it gets taken off you.

That's just depriving the club through dishonesty.

They are terrible, a lad on Twitter a while back opted into the cup games. This meant you need to buy a ticket for all cup games, he rang up months in advance saying he couldn’t attend a certain game for whatever reason I can’t remember now. They seen he didn’t attend and gave him a once match ban, which Was Man City at home. Can’t find it now like.

Stupid beyond belief. As long as the game is held hostage by tv schedules this is utterly ridiculous.

And even it wasnt, its still ridiculous.

I gave up my season ticket cos i worked away through week, couldnt get to every game cos they just move it as and when they feel like it. Back for 1 day and they move a 3pm kick off

Pretty sure Leeds do this ST sell-back scheme. Club charge the buyer full price for the ticket, about £45, yet only give the ST holder the equivalent of 1/19th of their ST, about £22. Nice little earner for the club!

Man Utd recently got in touch with ST holders asking why they hadn’t bought tickets for the LC game against Charlton. If the answer wasn’t to their liking they threatened to cancel their ST for the Manchester derby the following weekend.

Having seen the extra info about the ability to sell the ticket on for face value, it seems like a cracking idea.

There are always a few home games I can't get to (normally only 3 or 4 a season, but others will have to miss significantly more). Would be great, if demand was there, to be able to sell them on. That ability to get some money back would be worth the "hassle" of having to ensure I don't miss 4 games without listing the tickets tbh.

Don't think we need to consider it for a while though, if the ground doesn't sell out its an poor idea for the club, hence us ditching it when we used to have the ability to sell tickets on
Yes I was in the same boat just a little bit back on for the midweek ones made a difference to me, in terms of buying a season ticket. I was hoping the club would come up with some form of Flexi ticket not sure how it would work but ten games that you pick for x amounts over season. You just use them as credits when booking tickets or something

 I think it's shocking.

People could easily miss 4 games over a season due to work, family or other commitments. Fair enough you could possibly find someone who might want to use it, but you shouldn't have to if you've paid for your seat.

We used to have a similar fan to fan scheme. When I had a ST I couldn't make all of the games and it was always good to get something back rather than seeing it go to waste.
