An epidemiologist in Brazil, where daily deaths have passed 2,000, has said he fears the country may become a threat to global public health.
Dr Pedro Hallal, who works in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul, is urging international governments to help tackle the dire situation.
Brazl has the second highest coronavirus death toll in the world, after the US.

“The new Bradford case tested positive for Covid-19 in late February after travelling back from Brazil via Paris on 14 February.”

How has that been allowed to happen!!!!!

Could be wrong but figs being published by worldometers don’t seem to reflect what’s happen on ground

There is no way the figures published will be accurate.

Their leader doesn't believe in the properly. Can't imagine all the slums getting tests either. It will be completely out of control. They are only testing about one in ten people in a population of about 210 million.

The new dominant variant there now is more contagious, more dangerous, more resistant to vaccines, more likely to reinfect people that have already had another variant (which they might still be recovering from, thus making it even more dangerous).

It's bad.

That's a shame the Brazilian people deserve better than what their leaders have served up.

Hopefully the vaccines will help, can't imagine the rollout will be successful though, unfortunately.
