Brazil complain to FIFA

Well we should have had it for the triangle choke hold and rugby tackle on Kane. But we didn’t let it faze us and eventually broke Tunisia down.
The ref thought not. Same thing has happened for the last 70 odd years.

The problem with corners is you could point the camera anywhere in the box and there would be fouls for both teams.

If you look at the first rugby challenge on Kane last night, just before it Stones gave one of their guys a big shove in the back and I'm sure there would have been a foul by the Tunisians somewhere else before that and so on.

It's not a joke. What is a joke is the lack of understanding when it's to be used and how.

It's straightforward, the ref is in contact with the var officials.

He is the sole arbitrator on the pitch and var is there to assist him.

If he feels after being asked to check a decision, or var contact him about things and he replies, no, then that is it

Video ASSISTANT referee. It's there to assist and not takeover.

The incidents in the England game were not referred as the referee declared he had seen them and deemed them not a penalty.

That is nothing different to any game in the past, and we all have seen enough of what we thought were pens but the ref didn't.
The VAR also can advise the ref to look at a decision he's missed/failed to give.

That’s fair enough, but explain the French game incident

It’s shite because it’s still getting things wrong. Why didn’t VAR look at the incidents last night where Harry Kane got rugby tackled in the box.

Which VAR decision was wrong in there game?

Unless they are trying to use VAR as an excuse for a half fit Neymar.

The Swiss goal should not have stood. He pushed the Brazilian defender.

We should complain as well. They need to explain their decisions.

They were, that's what's concerning.

I've explained its use clearly. If the ref in the French game deemed whatever incident you are referring to was ok, that's it, nowt var can do.

Its still all down to the onfield officials in matters of opinion decision.

Line decisions, in the box, player offside are the main var areas, with mistaken Id for cards

The World Cup should not have been the place to trial run it.
Like I say I think this is their chance to say they’ve tried and it failed
Totally agree - its a failure. Apparently, the refs got all players and managers in before the tournament and said that pulling of players on the box would result in penalties. VAR has been used and totally ignored a major edict from FIFA and the refs. Its an utter joke and I've no problems with Brazil complaining.

From the FIFA site:
Throughout a match, the video assistant referee team constantly checks for clear and obvious errors related to these four match-changing situations. The VAR team communicates with the referee only for clear and obvious mistakes or serious missed incidents.

The ref played on from what the French claimed was a penalty.
Then about 40 seconds later the ref called a time out because he got a message in his earpiece telling him it was a penalty. So he went and looked at the screen and awarded a penalty.

That goes against what your saying in regards to the ref being the man in charge

Seems someone doesn't know how it works
