Agree. The fact we are heading into a huge summer still not knowing our best XI is criminal. I didn't agree with playing no tests between Sept & April at the time and still don't. Lyth has a huge ask now to play NZ in early season conditions with the likes of Boult and Southee hooping the ball all over the place. Also, we have no clue how to fit Ali, Stokes, Buttler and Jordan into the team ans still stay competitive.

Fair enough. I'm very much saddened that Strauss will be the new Director/Chief Exec or whatever his title is (how many execs do we actually need) as this will perpetuate the status quo. Like him or hate him, Vaughan would have shaken the place up

Vaughan would of been f***ing horrendous, Strauss is ideal, he is a winner and a leader, and will get everyone in shape. Its literally because he is posh, he's not a "yes man" at all, its very very very lazy to assume that,

Also not knowing our best XI is criminal? Is it?

Australia don't know their best XI either.

Boycott is from a different age and whilst 90% of what he says is common sense, he lives in the past. He cannot see past his former colleagues in Trueman and the like and is far too dismissive of the current crop of players.
Boycott was an early supporter of Cook mind.

Why would Vaughan have been "horrendous"?
What an unbelievably odd thing to say.

Moot point re best XI vs Australia. I don't think they will necessarily need their best eleven.

How can you say that, you don't even know what the job is. And as far as 'winner and leader' are you saying one is and the other isn't? Cos that wouldn't be true.

Agreed. Unreal venom against Vaughan.

Are you being serious? Vaughan has become a complete parody of himself, he changes his mind every week, has a different theory, calls for a different player to be called up, wants a different coach every week. He talks absolute shite. Not what you want from the man on charge

Perfect example of wrote several columns and spoke at length about how he wanted Eoin Morgan as England test captain last summer. The blokes become a joke, which is a shame as he was a good captain.

Rodgers, Warner, Watson, Smith, Clarke, x, Haddin, Johnson, Siddle, Starc, Harris

10 out of 11 nailed on there

Huge difference between running English cricket and selling newspapers through controversial or outspoken views

See my comment above, Vaughan was once a serious figure, he it now more of a celebrity who does things for attention and the games has passed him by, last person I would want. I'd rather have KP in charge than him, at least he would do things by logic.

Agreed. Knows the game, proven leadership qualities and prepared to be radical where required.

You've just lost all credibility there man!:lol::lol:

No, Watson is not nailed on at 3 in the slightest mate, totally wrong there. Also Siddle won't be in their starting XI either mate, and Starc has only just come back in the test team, although he will probably play. Also Mitchell Marsh has been playing when fit too.

Where is Lyon? Way off there, they have as many places up for grabs as us, we have maybe 1 more than them

I haven't, Vaughan has no logic, it changes from week to week, he's turned into a total bizarre pundit. Too much time with Piers Morgan I reckon,

Aye lets appoint Eoin Morgan as test captain, very "radical". Clueless.

So, amid all of the mediocrity you laud, the "amateur hour" administration you seem (bizarrely) to defend, you are now telling me that Michael Vaughan is a "joke". I just want to be sure that you know what you are saying.

You are getting close to the lost credibility trapdoor....

 What the fuck are you on about? what administration?

I don't want Moores as coach.

Michael Vaughan has become a joke, I don't really care if you agree or not.

Like I said - selling newspapers through controversial or outspoken views is very different to running English cricket. You may as well compare his performances on Strictly to his ability to run the English Cricket Team because that is as valid a comparison as you are making.

f***ing go away, you idiot.

Maybe a fair point, but I am not entirely sure that is what he is doing.

At the end of the day he didn't want the job as he is making enough money and likes his celeb lifestyle.

Can't blame the ECB for that, so Vaughan can keep slagging off the decisions and the team all he wants, at the end of the day he had the chance to do things his way, and he bottled it.

f***ing go away, you idiot.

Logical as ever mate. Good to see you deal with people disagreeing with you in a mature manor

You seem to insist that I am behind this "administration" or whatever that means.

I want Moores sacked, said that several times, we have anew chairman and a new Chief executive, and about to have a new director of cricket

please explain what administration I am behind, it doesn't even exist yet.

Grow up man.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Please explain what amateurish adminstration I am defending please, you have completely lost me

I tell you what...lets just avoid each other. We are never going to agree. Ever.

I don't get what you are disagreeing about.

The fact that you won't explain means that you are just causing arguments for the sake of it.

What administration am I defending, who am I defending?

It is a simple question mate, why won't you answer?

interesting thread and some decent points raised. haway though lads, not everyone agrees but lets be civil

now then. this summer cook has to prove both himself as a captain and to a lesser extent his batting

i fear the worst but by god i hope he succeeds.
