Silly Point

Striker
FFS. Embarrassment to the county.

Nearly put his foot in it during the Aggers wind up at the Oval as well with his "Black Government" remarks.

Sadly not alone among his generation round here, or anywhere. Don't like to start a generation battle but I heard some retired folk talking about "The Black Games" in relation to the athletics the other week anall. Too many of them think it's acceptable and get away with it.

I'm.not defending him in any way, but the use of those sorts of terms is definitely a generational thing. My Dad refers to black people as "coloured" and I had a long and animated argument with my auntie over the use of the terms "W*g" and "p*ki". In their generation these terms were acceptable, but I pointed out that they have since been used as racist terms, or as part of racial attacks and are no longer acceptable (in the same way that "gay" and "Queer" no longer have their original meanings in today's society.)
Boycott is from that generation and probably meant no harm, but a bloke in the Media should know better....

Boring professional Yorkshire twat.

Should have been put out to grass years ago, same boring repetitive shite. "stick o' rhubarb", "me mum's pinnie"

I am not going to criticise people of that generation for certain phrases or views, they were from a different era, and I think its unfair

However Boycott is a Yorkshire arsehole, arrogant beyond belief. I spent a lot of time in Yorkshire growing up, and honestly, so many blokes like Boycott. i even met him a few times as my Nanna new his family. Never liked him

A lot of modern day faux outrage.

AFAIK The bloke basically said the famous West Indian Players got OBEs easily so maybe if he was black (as in, one of them) he too would be on the honours list.

Hardly Alf Garnett is it, jesus christ  what a society we have morphed into.

That's nee excuse for Boycott. If you work in the public sector, which he does, you should be aware that saying something what he said isn't acceptable.

And anyway, he was just wrong anyway. He still wouldn't get a knighthood due to his controversial past

I totally agree yeah

I reckon Jimmy and Cook will end up knighted when they have finished.
