Oddly, they had two full drum kitsAre they back together?
Wasn't he at loggerheads for years with the drummer he was having a bit carry on with?
Anyone know why bands do this?

It was a bit of a thing back then. Adam & the Ants did similar as did a few others. The ”tribal beat” thing.Oddly, they had two full drum kits

Not just their Dads. We were at Uni and I still remember coming out with the immortal line, “it’s a woman man!” Which, apart from being one of the times it finally dawned on me that I did indeed have an accent they’d all taken the piss out of for ages, was also a pretty accurate summary.Everyone of a certain age can remember when Boy George and Culture Club were first on TOTP. And everyone's Dad asked the question 'Is that a boy or a girl?' or words to that effect!
Haway then....
You mean the ‘George Michael cover’ that is actually a Nick Kershaw songI won't let the son go down on me.
"Don't let the son go down on me"?
I saw what you did thereYou'd have to handcuff me to a radiator to force me to watch and listen to that lot.
They categorically were not. They were superb back in the day. Great time to be alive.

Adam & the ants copied Glitter with he two drum kitsGary Glitter did this.
Among the many times I saw him live (and you can all GFY, he was absolutely superb on the college circuit in the eighties) he would often have two drummers - one with a standard kit and one with a Simmons.
But James Brown once toured with four drummers IIRC. Saw a documentary recently where Bootsy was on about his baptism of fire audition or summat and he showed up to play with four drum sets lines up across the stage.
You and Kaplan are both right...great years for music and life. His voice is shot now mind...totally reliant on backing singers. They were superb back in the day. Great time to be alive.
One singer in particular?!Watching them on BBC4 now.
George’s voice has gone but his backing singers have some talents.
I could never ever understand how this band with there bland middle of the road songs ever had success.
I won't let the son go down on me.
I thought you would have known that one.
Queen.
Middle of the road music is always popular. It's why it's called middle of the road!
