i would be amazed if they win at our place. a draw is possible but far more likely for us to win and i really think we will win comfortably

Agree mate - I know their away form is decent, but I really can;t see them turning us over, and we really should win convincingly PROVIDED we don't bottle it. The 5-1 was a complete and utter freak; can't recall a game where so many players failed to turn up. This won't happen at the SOL, I'm sure, but then again the mags have had so much luck in this fixture at Roker / the SOL over the years in that they have been outplayed many times but still managed to escape with a draw....the same result is a distinct possibility.

Thing is with derby games the old saying of form book out of window is I feel very true. Nobody would have predicted the manner in which we won 5-1, you were bang on form and our home record is shite. On the day we wanted it more and the atmosphere pretty much got to your players.

Come January your players really really owe you one for that defeat and unless its an absolute hammering most Newcastle fans will not be to gutted as the 5-1 will always be a big consalation.

I do think that yous will obviously be favourites come January but you dont know how this young team will adapt again. The pressure to try and salvage something after the 5-1 could be too much of a weight on some young shoulders and they could hide again. I doubt it and I feel it will be a traditional blood n guts derby with a close scoreline

Well said marra, a traditional supporter even if you are from the wrong side of the tracks.
I keep trying to get through the heads of some of our lot that beating Chelsea 3-0 in no way f***ing compensates for the derby result.
Hold me hands up you were better than us all over the pitch, that result is going to take a lot of getting over and I couldn't give a fuck even if we finished fourth, last time I looked there was no trophy for that. Everton did it a few years ago and who remembers?
The only way we can scrub out that memory is either by getting to Wembley (hopefully knocking you out in the quarters) or hammering you at our place.
The comments from some of our lot make me wonder what f***ing planet they're on.

Did you see any of their game on saturday? Barton is capable of passing it about a bit, but without him at the weekend they were f***ing horrible to watch. Long hoof up to the greasy pikey everytime.

To be honest mate i didnt. I have only seen games where both Barton and Guttierez have been on form. and the derby

I pray your right Jack I'm not that confident. I'ts the attitude of people like Angstrom I find hard to understand, how can being 12 points clear of them atone for them doing the double over us? (unless it means they're relegated)
Neither of us has done the double over the other for decades and if they do it this season I couldn't give a fuck how high we finish, the only thing that could wipe that out would be for us to win the cup.

The 2002/3 and 2005/6 seasons were not decades ago.

All in my opinion of course - but why are so many people unwilling to give Newcastle any credit for their performance against us? I believe that their performance merits some credit, but surely their 5 - 1 victory over us was as freakish as our 3 - 0 victory over Chelsea?

We were convincingly beaten by the Mags. Chelsea were convincingly beaten by us. If the Mags deserve no credit for hammering us, why should we deserve credit for hammering the reigning champions?

Because Chelsea on an off day are normally good enough to beat 90% of the teams in the premier. Sunderland on an off day would be hard pushed to beat anyone in the premier.

Agreed - although most would admit that Chelsea had an exceptionally bad day at the office!

Have to admit though, the league is wide open this year. Liverpool managed to destroy Chelsea one week then go to Stoke and look like a pub team.
