Thought initially he was a bit quiet and let the ECB off a bit, but maybe he was just trying to draw a line under it, but I have to stay its good to have someone like him speaking up for the county, as people do listen, and keeps the injustice out there.

On a side note, you can't help think this is the time of figurehead SAFC could do with.

His opinions will definitely resonate with people, far more than the opinion of say David Harker would.

I said it when he came in and I'll say it again. With Beefy at the helm, we'll be alright :D.
He has a fundamental hatred for the establishment at ECB which can only be a good thing for DCCC and something which will filter down to other counties as well. More will stand up and listen to him due to his standing in the game than they ever would do for the likes of Harker or most other CEOs

Couldn't agree more.

It already appears that other counties are being far more outspoken in their criticism of FTECB.

Well to suddenly have the likes of Surrey agreeing (clearly for their own agenda) is a good thing.

I can see some changes happening for cricket in general, given that the governance of the ECB is questionable and people like Botham will publicly call them out on it.

Got to love a gob5hite in these circumstances, with their only desire to get things done and wont accept no

He says a lot.

But can I ask what he has actually done so far? How much is he involved on a week to week basis?

Not sure you can measure his impact easily as we can't possibly know what he does.

Clearly he has had a say in the new contracts - we've heard some of that from his own mouth.

And to those who say he "has a fundamental hatred for the establishment at ECB". Really? Remember when he was appointed he was the ECB's pick and he stated that he was in favour of the new T20 competition.

I wouldn't say he's a yes man, not in the slightest. I think he's his own man (as well as being a good friend of Rod Branscombe at Hant's or whatever his name is), but I'm not sure he has an axe to grind against the ECB.

You just have to listen to him on Sky to understand his views on the ECB/ICC etc. There is little complimentary coming out of his mouth
