marty has just said on commentary that jon lewis had a chat with him recently and the idea of him coming back is just wishful thinking by the members. he is happy in London and wants to fight for his place, which is what I always expected him to do.

I can still hope it is just being diplomatic and he does return but i can't see why surrey would give up on him so soon or him giving up on the move

edit: should have said borthwick move a non starter, left it open for the obvious jokes now
 

Does go against what a few of us down here heard (that he was unhappy, couldn't settle etc), so that's a bit of a surprise.

Hopefully the lad can turn it around next season.
 
Not surprised myself.

In an imaginary world if I'd gone down there and found it tough I would fight it out too. Who wants to come back with their tail between their legs? I'd at least wait until I'd have a bit of success before thinking about moving.

well I'm sure given how it is all going he isn't exactly over the moon happy but also usually when someone asks you'll tend to say aye it's ok. and even if he said it isn't great I doubt lewis would tell a media member too much of the details. that's what I meant about being diplomatic, both him and lewis and possibly marty too.

and as @Bri says even if he hasn't settled I rekcon both he and your club would give it another crack next year and re assess then.

the way its going, having seen him in the pre match kickabouts, he could start for safc next season, never mind surrey
