Can see it being a bit of a formality for Sunderland tbh. By at least 2 anyway.

Even though I'm a member of the ciu club down here I've been telt I can't gan on the supporters bus from the club I spend all my money in .it might antagonise the boro fans.

i can't really bothered to check just to score points but wouldn't really like to see boro's worst crowds from that period.

Allow me....

1983/84 - 8,473 - Division 2
1984/85 - 5,135 - Division 2
1985/86 - 6,257 - Division 2

But surely you want to see the stadium full again? It can;t be much fun watching Boro in a half empty stadium.

If you win promotion, how many do you think will come back to watch the team in the premier league?

Oh yeah , of course i'd rather the stadium was full - better atmosphere and better for the players too.
Reckon if we go up , it'll rise to about 26,000 ish - thats pretty much what we were getting in the last seasons before relegation (maybe a bit higher for the first season or two - IF we stayed up of course)

This apart from Northumbria finest able to provide adequate protection

i think at 4k they should be able to protect the boro fans. if they bubble the coaches in like the mags they should be safe enough.
i think they might run with the big steel walls for this game, that'll get the trains in with minimal problems, fans separated around the back of the sheepfolds.

and bryan should have played the kids against blackburn 96/97 season

many thanks mr headbanger!!
bit lower than i expected to be honest but football was in a bad way all round. its easy to pluck figures like 14k out of the sky but maybe not as comfortable comparing apples with apples.

probably a better idea to keep the sunderland fans in afterwards if 7000 boro are there

and on this about the riverside been empty well boro averaged about 27-28k in the premiership and now its 19k. sunderland averaged 39k in 02/03 in the premiership and then in the championship in 03/04 averaged 27k

I think its time the Boro child abuse jokes / taunts ended. The best that can be said for this is that its very bad taste, but in reality its pretty sick.

It's 25 years ago now and it was a pretty sad and screwed up affair. Weren't the children removed by the notorioius Marietta Higgs later moved back to the families concerned?

When king robbo took over there gate jumped to 15,000 average

Wont harp on too much about it , but it was shocking tbh.
Apparently she had a "new way" of examining for child abuse (which she got wrong) and diadnosed just about every child that went into the hospital (for whatever ailment).
Was awful , and not funny (kew the jokes no doubt)

but , if you live in "smoggie land" (wherever that is) - doesn't it apply to you too:?:

I think deep down everyone knows its wrong.
Not sure that is the same thing to be honest....would you rather be called a scab or a child abuser;)

The Boro were caught in the path of the tornado. Could have been any town that Higgs was practicing in.
