I like him as a person. Always came across well.
He dies not cope well under pressure .Not sure he will be able to cope well in your nuthouse. You have broken stronger managers than him.

He walked out on a team that was going for promotion when things got a bit tough.

I just can't see him taking it.

Why I don't want him total bottle job

He fell out with downing too mind I had heared he wasn't a karanka signing more of a Gibson signing

One of the few rumours I've heared that was true then

What seems to have happened and the story confirms it was - contact was made with Gibson that Downing wanted to come back. Gibson asked Karanka and he said aye go on then. If Karanka had said no he wouldn't have been signed. Karanka tho never felt like he had choose him.

I had heared he wanted to come back one of the parishioners of the local church I gan to said this to me weeks before he came he knas the family well

County Durham and proud, a lot of the older supporters including me still class our selves as County Durham. Backfired mate.

Not really mate.
The OP referred to Boro as a 'North Yorkshire club' , which a lot of older Boro supporters (including me) still class ourselves as , similarly with yourself and County Durham.

It wasn't an attempt at 'slagging County Durham off - i've lived there myself for years - just letting the OP know that being a 'North Yorkshire club' is a weird thing to try to lord it over a club with.

My brother and his family are smoggies, he reckon's Slaven refused to play for them during the lock out and most boro fans think he's just journey player who got an easy gig and the term legend is a joke.
Hmmmmmm.
He played in our first game that season (against port Vale at Hartlepool) , scored in our 2nd game , and ended up the season being one of our top scorers.

Not bad for someone who 'refused to play'.

Agreed, nowt that hasnt been said on here and he is right about getting pelters if he doesnt deliver instant success...Happened with Grayson, next bloke will get even less time as there are less games less and the need for wins is even more desperate.

Think you are being unfair there mind, Hartlepool and Darlo probably see them as a derby game although not as big as the derby game between each other.

Bizarrely it will still apply, best thing about the Smoggies is Gibson who deserves (or maybe doesnt deserve) the freedom of the town.:lol:
pools and darlo have their own derby... boro are like a fat ugly bird.... nobody wants them

True - the reality is the majority of boro fans class themselves as North Yorkshire. It does seem strange it is used against us.

So why mention it

Nah.

I don't know of any boro fan who would deny it. All the boro fans I know either don't care or actually say - we are North Yorkshire.
Funny that loads on here got all upset about before my called a Yorkshire club.

Doesn’t make any difference at all to me, just stating the fact that some of your lot get a bit upset about it, strange considering some are proud of it.
