Borini

Wrong move to sign Borini for £14M his value is around £8M typical Sunderland paying high prices and when we come to sell it will be for around £4M
His value is what a team will pay. And unlike players such as Brown and O Shea who are at the end rather than the start of their careers there is a lot of upside in Borini. Two good seasons and we could easily make double that money the way transfers are going.

Surely one of our strikers will now be sold? I think Borini could be a canny option upfront, so you would think we wouldn't need Fletcher, Wickham and Altidore when we play 1 upfront.

Borini will be playing the same role he played last season, wide left of a front 3. In the long run I think he'll end up at centre forward but I'd be very surprised if that's where Poyet sees him next year, apart from anything else that would need us to sign another left sided player. I'd guess it'll be a front three of Borini - Fletcher/Wickham - Johnson, with the other one of Fletcher/Wickham on the bench and another wide player brought in on loan.

Paid £12M for Fletcher will we get £12M back? No chance. I feel this is going the same way but it's typical Sunderland throwing the money and getting no return. I'd of rather they spent the money on a decent creative midfielder.

Who is to say we won't spend money on such a player next week. Cheer up

I'm only picking on you because you were the last to post about this but I hope you and all the people complaining about us spending £14m on Borini are not the same people who were complaining about the free transfers we brought in.

Borini was always going to be worth more to us than other teams because he has the benefit of knowing the team and the system we play and being a huge fan favourite. He won't need any settling in time so he should hit the ground running. You shouldn't underestimate the value of this given the number of changes we will be making this window.

f***ing hell man, he hasn't even signed yet and you're worrying about how much we'll sell him for!

At least with this deal were getting a known quantity with very little risk, worth paying a bit extra for IMO.

Are the actual terms of the deal public knowledge now? I wouldn't expect it to be 14 up front.

Why do you absolve her of all failure but then give her credit for our best signing in 25 years
I don't, I see both good and bad

Why do you blame her for everything bad, but credit her for nothing good?

Misogyny or stupidity or both?

For the price we are getting one cool headed penalty taker as well remember. His confidence stepping up for them certainly has a knock on effect on me, he just seems to know he is going to score.
