Borini

All your insults won't change the fact that the money we overpay for borini will in some shape or form stop us from going for other targets. We do not have a bottomless pit of money.

Well, I've only used one insult so far. How about if I try a few more?

Boring, tedious, pathetic, obvious wum, warped, twisted, stupid, self-contradicting, pompous fuckbags.

LEE! LEE! HOW MUCH MONEY YOU GOT?

to be honest I think this will rank as one of the clubs best signings for a long time. It's ages since we've signed anyone that I really look forward to watching.

Are you aware of what other strikers are going for?

MCCormack -£11m
Ulloa - £7m

If that's the benchmark then Borini is a fair price.

Don't forget he's played for some of the best clubs in Europe and scored 11 goals from outside last season.
so because other teams overpaid for players that has to be the benchmark

any player who does this with no fear for his own safety other than boshing the ball in the net gets my backing :

he's the shit !

Is prefer us to get borini for a reasonable fee or tell Liverpool to shove it. He's not the only striker out there.

What do you feel is reasonable? Taking into account recent fees. Eg 7m for Ulloa and 11m for McCormack who are 2 players who are getting on and haven't even set the championship alight and have done nothing at all in the top league. Also 5m for Graham and 6m for Altodore?

Transfer fees are silly right now. Borini deal looks good to me. Time will tell. But at end of the day you must pay for quality.

You're totally out of touch. You think strikers at our level are supposed to score close to 30 goals, you also think you can easily get two quality players in easily for no more than 6million each. To do that takes incredible scouting and is still a massive risk. Have you been paying attention to the fees going about in this window. This looks like pretty good value considering.

Do you remember what happened last summer when we bought a load of "bargains".....this lad has proven himself to be quality and will only get better. The problem is you're choosing to judge him on the wrong criteria.

I didn't say that at all. Bent got us 25 goals a season when he was here, that's the point i'm making. If you pay that much for a striker it has to work out. I didn;t say quality players, again you're putting words into my mouth. My exact line was "I think our money could be more wisely spent"

The argument that "Oh Fulham paid £11m for Ross McCormack" is stupid. Liverpool paid £35m for Andy Carroll. So what. Just because one club manages to get a good deal doesn't mean everyone suddenly pays double what a players worth. You have to judge each transfer individually.

I would disagree that Borini is quality mind. He has potential to be quality yeah.

14 million, umm yeah. That's too much even if it were in dollars. I know many here love him but that's way overpriced for a limited player. Sunderland will have ended up paying 2 million per goal is my guess and that's not counting wages. Liverpool made out like bandits here.

Rumors about Tim Cahill being interested in Sunderland too.
