It's almost as if this heavy fall and injury was pre-arranged.

Whatever, this whole thing is ridiculous now and we should withdraw our offer.

And, if his previous spells out of the game were for shoulder injuries, and he has gone again with another similar injury, it might be an inherent weakness (a bit like Ba's explosive knee, but real). Lets not risk our major outlay on an injury risk.

IIRC the dislocation was to his left shoulder and the current injury is to his right.

Liverpool clearly know something about the deal or they wouldn't be playing him. Either that or Rodgers doesn't want him to go. Maybe this injury scare will bring a bit more pressure to get the deal done.

We have been playing Diakite and Cabral. Unless Congerton c0cks up right royaly, there is no way they are playing for us next year. What does that tell us?

This whole thing is getting stupid. As much as I would like Borini to join, it's getting to the stage where the club need to pull the plug.

Why risk the lad, when £14m is on the table? The pressure to get rid of him now must be growing

I don't think Poyet sounds as confident of getting him as he was.
.

This is the most significant thing from Poyet yesterday. I think for whatever reason Borini isn't coming now. You never know we might get another chance to have him on loan for the season when he sees what the Suarez money has been spent on and realises he's nowhere near their first team.
We really need to start addressing other gaps in the team let alone first team squad ASAP.

I missed Gus's comments from yesterday. What did he say bud?

I don't hold it against the lad, I am only disappointed as the media made out that he pushed for the move to Sunderland, turns out he didn't, he is ambitious and is either hoping to prove himself for Liverpool or attract interest from Italy IMO.

It isn't just about his agent getting an extra few quid out of us IMO, if he signs for us, is he not kind of accepting that he won't be a top 4 player? which he clearly believes he can be.

We need to be honest about Fabio because the more time that goes past it looks like less chance of it happening, (Direct quote from Poyet)

like we said yesterday, it's one of the wiederst things I can remember seeing - Rodgers must want him to stay, maybe an injury helps or maybe his just thick, whatever it's like an episode of Tales of the Unexpected.
Rodgers would just come out and say the lad isn't for sale do you think the board have accepted the bid against Rodgers's wishes

Cant remember seeing Gus say this mind

Yep. Starting to sound dead. The good thing is; the injury scare will probably make Liverpool force Borini to make a quick decision.

We move on, but I wish the lad well (mind unless a big Italian club comes in for him, I still feel he will regret the decision not to join us)

Agree completely but people have understandably become fixated on Borini. He's a good player with the drive and potential to improve but if he's not our player he's one of many elsewhere in this league. We need fullbacks, cover at centre half, midfield players and more than likely another forward and Gus wanted most of them in pre Portugal. I hope our chase of Borini hasn't put the rest of squad recruitment behind too much.

More made up shite .....

We need to be honest about Fabio because the more time that goes past it looks like less chance of it happening, but then some people say that the more players Liverpool sign the better chances we have of signing him. Who is right or wrong?
We don't have a left-back and we need one now. We need the pace we were looking for from last year now. We need the midfielders too. There are things we need to do - right now.
I have been saying something is very close, but when some things don't happen it isn't happening for a reason. We will move on from a few things and if we find the right person then it's meant to be.
People say no news is good news and at the minute we are still waiting, which is not nice. I am going to Portugal on Friday and I would have liked players in by then. I think there will be someone in by Friday and maybe there could be three ... but I use the word hope! It's difficult to know.

Borini thinks he's too good to move to Sunderland on a permanent basis - he isn't.
thats exactly what it is. he'll try his heart out when he's on loan, but only because he's still liverpools player...........

All straight from the horses mouth so to speak. I know there's lots of rumour and counter rumour on here but you can't get a better source than the manager.

It tells me we haven't had or accepted a bid for them. Therefore is nothing like the borini situation.
But the manager is playing them in pre season, knowing that his is very unlikely to keep them. Rodgers could be the same, That it is like the Borini situation. In the past, he has played players like Downing in pre seasonwhen he had an offer in, and then they left.

Your argument is logical, but doesn't apply to Rodgers.
