Well if he would rather play in the reserves for Liverpool than come here and be one of the first names on our team sheet its a very sad reflection of modern day footballers
i bet he'd rather fight for his place in a top 6 team than one thats forever going to circle the bottom of the prem.

use your common sense mate, instead of clutching at straws.
I retain an open mind until we hear unequivocally via an appropriate outlet that the deal is off.

You're clutching at straws, hoping it is off.

I'll take Gus' words as "some paperwork to sort out" as what's apparent, otherwise he'd have said the deal was off.

Liverpool have more or less told him to fuck off by accepting the bid, they have signed Lambert & Markovic whilst being linked with Remy, Bony & Origi

I don't know how many hints he needs to be told he is not good enough and is no longer needed

He said he wants regular football though, he won't get that at Liverpool. he'll be lucky to get anything other than cup games. If he's happy to sit in their reserves and not play then thats his decision, still not convinced he'd do that though. We'll soon see
i really hope he signs, he was terriffic for us, but i don't imagine that his ambition is to be fighting to stay in the league every year.

don't be so bloody daft. of course i want him to sign, but its not looking likely, is it?

Is nobody at Liverpool gonna tell him he has f***ing no chance of getting in their first team ??
Even when they sign Remy they still will need a big (ish ) name to replace Suarez at this rate he'll even be lucky to get a run out in League Cup games for them

No I cannot understand why any footballer would pick reserve team football over first team football
you've got to admire his desire to stay. hope he still signs for us, but we'll need to convince him of our ambition to do so, and it'll have to be better than the bottom 6

He's on the fringes of one of the biggest clubs in world football, he's only 23 year old, it would be a massive step down for him to sign for us.

He is not on the fringes at all, there are already numerous players ahead of him and more to come

No I don't admire his decision to stay there and play reserve team football

i know that, but you can understand why he'd rather stay there. look at the money they've spent, they're being ambitious. what are we doing? the bare minimum to stay in the league.

But he won't get in their team this season, and he'll still have to move to get regular football in January or next summer. It's delaying it, but it won't change - he won't get in their team especially with the other strikers they are looking to bring in. He's too good to sit in Liverpool's reserves and not play.
