Borini

I would hope we've got a back up plan if Borini is going to turn us down, if discussions haven't progressed over the next week I would be looking at putting an offer in for any potential alternatives that have been identified.

At £14m we could easily get a player at or probably above Borini's quality, so the one good thing to come out of all this is that we do appear willing to spend a few quid this summer. If he does turn the move down it could work out well for us if we're willing to invest big money on individual players still

come on let face nowts going to happen until the last weeks of the transfer market. clubs wanting to hold on to their players incase they can not replace them. players holding out for better moves more money. this is like kids at christmas looking in the parents wardrobe and not finding what they are looking for

My previous post wast direct from someone at Liverpool btw. For those that didnt pick it up. Borini is staying at Liverpool because Rodgers keeps telling him he thinks he's a great player and doesn't want him to go. Until Brenda grows a set he's staying.
Think he'll get a bit of a nudge from upstairs and it'll all turn fairly quickly. Rogers is acting like most managers. Every member of their 67 man squad is their favourite. FSG won't want him to ignore that sort of money for a player he'll hardly use.

I have no issue with Borini wanting to stay and fight for his place at Liverpool. However I would expect him to have the common decency to tell Sunderland outright rather than have his agent talking to Italian Journalists
Does that still give me some hope? I suppose it does, but this needs resolving by the end of this week as far as I'm concerned. Let's be honest, Congerton will have a plan B to fall back on, it won't be as if we would need to start from scratch, but we are almost at the end of July and we can't keep saying , "plenty of time left". We also have plenty of work to do

He needs to be seen to be happy to stay at Liverpool, that way they will need to give him a pay off. If he asked to leave he'd forfeit that
Liverpool have accepted a fee so are willing to sell , they will have to pay him a fee

I don't think he even knows what his decision is yet. He wants to play for Liverpool, but Liverpool have just shown that they don't really want him... Not the easiest of decisions for him to make now. Do you prove yourself? Do you just accept it and move on?

Whats everyone's opinion on the Borini situation? His agent is saying hes staying at liverpool to fight for his place, i honestly think we should give them a take it or leave it offer then move onto different targets, like that Rodriguez, if they decline

Don't listen to the wankers on here mate. Keep creating threads and keep the faith.

All the best
