BREAKING NEWS

Sunderland striker Fabio Borini is due to undergo a medical with AC Milan tomorrow ahead of a move to the San Siro in a deal worth £5.3m, according to Sky in Italy.

It’s understood an agreement between Milan and Sunderland has been reached for the striker, although this is yet to be officially confirmed.

The club have been getting a lot of shit lately, most of it deserved and I have done it too, but credit where credit is due.

A high earner gone who has no interest in being here, for a halfway decent fee.

I fully expected Borini and co to be loans with us still picking up some of his wage.

Hopefully this will be a sign of things to come for others like Borini still in the squad. More of the same please.

I don't think he put a transfer request in, so we will still be paying some wages, or a lumper.

The fee is a bonus, just having his wages gone are the main thing.
Again, who says that has happened?
If AC only offered half, he'll be picking up wages from us until his contract expires - or a settlement fee upfront.

£5.3m is a good piece of business for a lightweight, work shy, sulky 2 goals a season "striker"
Wonder how much we paid up front for him and what was based on appearances etc

That said, it represents a loss of between £2.8m-4.8m depending on who you believe about what we paid for him
Would expect a major loss on Djilibodji and Lens
We might get our money back on Khazri (£9m)
We should make money on Kone (£6m)

They are signing him for 5.3 million, we won't be paying his wages.
