Borini to AC Milan

He never wanted to come back and it showed when we practically begged him to come in the summer of 2014. Then he sheepishly turned up a year later when there were no better offers and even Sunderland seemed preferable to rotting in Liverpool's stiffs for another year.

A deal that typifies this club and its acceptance of both second best and people taking the piss out of it.

Pretty crap fee in today's market but suppose it's better than nothing.

Given his last three years of form and his wages it's a pretty decent fee given the limited market for him (I. E. Celtic and a couple of Italian clubs).

Had any English clubs wanted him then different story as there's money here.

I agree. I imagine with Milans money we won't be covering any wages either.

Although Italians are reporting it as a loan move first (€1m) then an obligation to buy. Doesn't really make much difference in the grand scheme of things for us like.

Maybe you are right I was thinking more about us trying to replace him for that fee.
However given we seemingly have no football people at the club that probably shouldn't be too much of a concern right now.
