I agree. Why some hold it against him, that he wanted to try and show what he could do at a higher level first, I find odd tbh. It hasn't worked out, so I would still have him back here tomorrow. He gave us some of the best moments we've had in years and gave his all when he was here. This Fuck him, he can Fuck off and even knackers a saying they hate him . f***ing pathetic and they need to get a grip.

So you really hold it against him because he wanted to see if he could make it at Liverpool, over signing for us? Haway man.
Had his chance yes

Without doubt hes better than a lot of our options. Id have him back.hes the best sort of player for us in sum ways. Thinks hes too good to be here therefore will bust his bollocks to get a move to this BIG club he craves.if that happens we should turn a profit

Think you need to come back to the real world then mate. Had his chance? He gave his absolute everything when he was here. Thought he owed it to himself to see what could happen at Liverpool, but it never worked out. Why some hold that against him is ridiculous. To say he had his chance so Fuck him, is just daft tbh with you mate.

He always gave 100% when he was here and scored some of the biggest goals in our recent history. I'll remember him fondly and would give him a round of applause if he came back with another side. Real lack of reality by some on here on this. Not sure what he's done so wrong for the dislike one bit.

All just thinking out loud, but if Fletcher and Graham go and borini came in, that would be a very good bit of business. Won't happen like, but would be happy with something like that.

all academic really as doubt he is the kind of player DA would want anyway
Ah aye, not a chance we'll be even on for him, but Fletcher and Graham out, borini in and room for another attacker and that would make us much better. I'm not one who thinks we should just give Fletcher away, but something along these lines would be great imo.

agree. it was daft of us to try and sign him, the best thing all round would have been let him go back to liverpool and then in january when he still hasn't played at all put an offer in...

The club should of gave him a deadline, then when it didn't happen, move on but keep an eye on his situation. How some can't understand his decision bto stay and fight for his place at Liverpool, I'll never know. There's absolutely no reason why he shouldn't be welcomed back for me, if it turned out the club wanted him now.

aye. alot was reported about him wanting 90k per week but i don't believe that for a second as we wouldnt have hung around all summer, we'd have said thanks but no thanks swift as.

I'd have him back in a heart beat, he's better than what we've got, can play out wide and up front, and chips in with some vital goals.

Spot on mate.

What ever the pros and cons, and rights and wrongs, I can't believe this bloke still creates a numerous page thread a year after he left us a loan player
I understand where your coming from but I guess he has been a major part in some of the highs in a largely forgettable few years of dross. His goal at the SOL v Mags, his composure and cheeky piss take with his pen at the Wonga, his finish agains WBA to gaurantee safety, and then of course that Wembley cup final moment. All fond memories and can't think of another player that has given us these highs in recent years. This is probably why his name gets so much air time on here.
