Borini.... I know I know

I don't think Borini was completely blameless mind and I think he made the wrong decision career wise too, but Gus's continuous comments about him speaking to him and knowing him and being confident made the whole situation worse.
Poyet for me was up to no good he knew the fans wanted him, he wanted him but new it was a long shot, he had an agenda against congerton he wanted to be the big cheese, the more he went on about it the more pressure he put on Congerton to deliver the undelivable. He knew the fans were behind him after saving us the season before.

Lend can also play through the centre so that could allow a nice bit of interplay between the two and if you throw Johnson into the mix the three would be a nightmare to mark.

Johnson and Lens are better options outwide. We have better options through the middle. Move on.

People bitter about Borini because he chose to give himself a chance at a top end club!
Better to try and fail than not try at all. The lad can now find himself a suitable level and club and see what happens from there.
Gave his all for us and that's all can ask of a player.
I'd certainly have him back .

This. If he had signed last summer people would have probably put him in the Fletcher category by now anyway.

neither did kaboul want to come here a few years ago - and look where he is now !!

And I could foresee a similarity with Kaboul....... Borini would also probably consider us as a reasonable career move five years or so down the line.

Not this shite again, the good thing is Liverpool must be fuming about not getting well over the odds for him last year, price still too high. He is not a real winger or a scorer.

Spot on. The lad said he wanted to go back to Liverpool and fight for his place when he was here. Played a huge part in keeping us up, lad worked his bollocks off, don't get why people get so upset that he didn't want to come. Was not a huge surprise! If 7 mil is true. Someone is getting a very decent player for that price. I would take him back in a heart beat. Christ if Swansea are f***ing stupid enough to give us 4 million for Fletcher, give it to Liverpool with another 3 and we have improved ourselves

Defoe, but I would play Borini through the middle before any other striker at the club. There was a fair few fans wanted the lad played through the middle when he was here

Not what we need.

I've got no complaint that he didn't come last summer - he's entitled to make whatever decision he wants. But realistically we need another midfielder and after that perhaps a centre forward, not someone who plays in the same position as Jeremain Lens.

Lens plays left or right side and can/has also played in the centre. I can see him spending more time on the right this season which leaves us with Wickham on the left.

I just have a feeling - and I hope I'm wrong - that after spending £10m on Rodwell last season Short will be reticent to in effect write him off which is what spending big on another midfielder would do ...

If we are going to bring in a striker I'd want someone better than Borini. He's hardly prolific.

Granted he's not but he'd improve us we don't have the coin to bring in someone prolific, an if this Swansea link is not an April fool, for 3 million we would be getting a good player.

If we keep buying better than what we have we will get to a spot where we have what we need.

Instead we buy players such as Bridcutt, Buckley and Gomez
Exactly, we've been dog shit for ages now, so dog shit that players would pick Stoke, Swansea, Villa etc. Borini would be a very good signing

I know - but we have the left sided attacker position covered with Lens. It's not that Borini and Lens couldn't play in the same side - but we don't need both.
