If we're talking about Wickham, he might have a better touch and more energy and is more alert, Borini quicker over short distances, not be much in it pace wise at full speed.
Obviously Borini was supreme at penalties, not sure about better finisher as Wickham generally gets himself in a poor position having made the wrong choice, then shoots. On some occasions he's looked a natural finisher, but last season he missed some relatively simple ones. Borini just used to shoot from anywhere having held onto the ball too long for the vast majority of his time here, some went pretty close but rarely did they go in.
Borini certainly seemed to draw more saves than Wickham does.
True. Borini was rather greedy and not a team player till the run in, in terms of distribution (IMO - work rate and covering yes) but whilst he did shoot from anywhere, some were quite spectacular and he was unlucky. Last season Wickham had chances despite often playing wide and some were relatively easy and he didn't even get them on target.
I guess last season I thought Borini was the most important signing we could make, given the manner in which we played and what he offered. Now it appears we have covered that role I'm just not convinced he's good enough in a centre forward role to warrant going out on a limb to get him. I think there's a lot of question marks over him in that role, maybe less than someone like Wickham, but given Wickham is here and he hasn't really had an extended run in the role, I'd prefer to give him the chance or if we were to sell him bring someone other than Borini in.
Pretty much how I feel. Was genuinely gutted and a bit annoyed we firstly failed to convince him and secondly not have a plan b. He was the difference in more than just goals that season and it was naivety that meant we ended up struggling up front for the majority of last season.True. He found his feet and his level here and played well for half a season. He gave it the billy big bollocks and warmed the bench for the season at Liverpool. His choice, wrong one though wasn't it?
Thinking he could get a first team place over (or even alongside) Sturridge, Ballotelli and Lambert.
He hardly got a start when 2 of the 3 were injured and when he did he was largely shite. He got the same amount of red cards as he scored goals![]()
It's football not f***ing work man. He knew his time there had come to an end with the two accepted bids.so, nothing a matter with ambition. I really don't understand the attitude of some fans

He just didn't want to come to us or QPR. Instead he acted like a jilted pussy and fucked on trying to stay at Liverpool. He should've accepted it like a "man he is" and left.
Not saying he did anything wrong. From a career point of view, he should've left last summer. Liverpool didn't want him then and they don't want him now.He didn't want to come? So what? He wanted to give it ago, he started some key games, he started Real Madrid away
I just don't get this mentality of some fans. He did nothing wrong at all

Prove himself? I think he knew his Liverpool career was over mate, he was just in denial with it all. Plus his lass is a scouser too. He's been on loan most of his career and while it sounds biased. He should've joined us while he had the chance. Maybe he thinks he's too good for a club like ours but he'll end up at LeicesterTrue maybe he should but he stayed for the right reasons, to try and prove himself
Interesting to see what he does now
I think a lot of people would cut their nose off to spite their face on these boards like, Borini would undoubtedly improve our squad and add some much needed attacking impetus, he obviously wanted to try and take a chance at a much bigger club than us, so fair enough.
I'd have him back for that price as unlikely as it is.
Still doing his medical @Ponteland MackemI keep thibking summit must be happening if this threads still goingBoriniiiiii!!!!!!
