Just heard that amongst Borini's demands of £95,000 a week, severance pay from Liverpool he also insisted QPR insert a buyout clause of £10 million In his contract! No wonder Fernandes pulled the plug!

If thats true then yes, not surprised at all that they pulled the plug. So they pay 10m+, have to pay far more than hes worth as a weekly salary and dont even have the comfort that if he does well they can sell for a big profit. The term wanting to have your cake and eat it springs to mind, Fabio. That deal would be a non starter purely from a financial standpoint, even before considering the fact that it suggests a huge lack of commitment on the players behalf.

He probably wanted us to include the same clause. If the issue has been wages, contract clauses and agents fees, maybe this prompted Gus to say 'fabio wants to come but there's other things holding the transfer up', or words to that effect.

I've heard he was on £48k/week at Liverpool and was offered £52k/week by QPR. Based on the last time they were in his league and signed all the overpaid lazy arses going, QPR are probably seen as a bit of a soft touch by agents and players.

Had his chance to join a big club like us and be worshiped.
Now he will be a nobody lingering around for a while and then disappear.
