Bolton have postponed game v Doncaster over fears

If any team is allowed to call off a game because they lose just 5-0 and might be tired it's a farce. These weren't kids, there are plenty the same age who play in the Premier League. I don't know what Bolton were thinking of just calling it off unilaterally.

They were in the 1950s.
Agree. Not sure what punishment they could / should get given they are a certainty for relegation anyway. A points deduction this season is pointless (still awaiting a deduction for Brentford last season let alone the Doncaster match), presumably they can't pay any fine. Can they be deducted points for next season?

If we lose half of our Christmas fixture list surely that’s going to require compensating? Rearrange some of our weekday games for the Boxing Day game?
We'll take a midseason break while everybody else is flogging their guts out with 4 games in 10 days. Presumably we'll be out of both cups too, so should be really fresh come January.

Badoom tishhhh! :)
It's not that simple.

Kids can't play three times in a week against seasoned pros.

That much should be apparent to the EFL given that the club have twice asked them to postpone fixtures this season.
There's no better way for them to learn the game. Many great players have been regular first team players at 17.

But the thing is, that's not Doncaster's problem. If you have the players and they're not injured, they should play. You can't wait for them to regain their fitness and play every other week at the expense of the opposition having to accept it and agree to a rearranged fixture at a later date. If Doncaster have several injuries, can they decide they don't want to play as their players have played too many games throughout the season and need resting?
This 100%.

It's awful and that's the last thing that any football fan wants, however Tranmere were basically given a 5-0 walkover victory at the weekend. If Bolton are taken over and sort themselves out then how is it fair that from that point teams play a stronger Bolton side? The entire thing calls into question the integrity of the league imo. They should be thrown out, along with Bury and have their couple of results scrubbed from the record.

They'll still find it difficult as they'll only be able to sign free transfers, how many good free transfers are available? Unless pf course their situation is resolved before the end of the transfer window.

We were told to play them, it wasn't the club's idea.

Bury haven't had to field their kids.

If their situation is resolved they'll have a better chance of picking up points in their first few games than we did.
If - and it's a big if at that! As it is,Wouldn't you admit that Bolton want not to field a team at all because they haven't got the players?

The FA need to think on their feet and remember it's the fans that lose out, try a different approach perhaps.
Think of the emergency loan that teams can do with keepers for instance, why not allow Bury & Bolton to ask other teams for emergency loan players to fill all positions? At least it gives the two clubs a chance to preserve their dignity and enable them to compete at this level. Everyone will benefit, fans, players, fixtures....I reckon there are loads of lads who'd love to go there purely for the experience. It's only a slight rule change, it is an emergency & it will cost next to nothing. Not so mad really.

The EFL were warned over two years ago that Bolton & Bury were facing extreme financial difficulties. Sad as it is, these two clubs should have been made to prove that they had the necessary funds to complete the season. Teams not fulfilling fixtures is a bloody fiasco.

Bury don’t have a problem re players it’s purely about wether they have sufficient funds to complete the season, with Bolton its both and they can’t pay the players they currently have so how would they be able to pay loanees
One more nail in the coffin, unless it’s a stipulation of someone about to buy club
