There's a good few posts in here about lack of protests.

As has been said, triumphantly by many, a good number of fans thought his time was up. The silent majority did little, I wrote a letter some others cancelled their season ticket (some bloke raffled his 2).

There were no real protests; there was no point. SBR was due to go at the end if the season and he'd have been 72 by then. He'd gone, there was no coming back. It was a completely different situation to times of other protests.

Please lock this thread, if only to stop people embarrassing themselves.

One of the best managers ever.

Up their with Clough, Ferguson, Paisley

The mags can get fucked, they forced him out of the club and replaced him with Souness.
I liked and respected the bloke but he was a tier below those managerial greats IMO.

Very good manager, the three you quoted were brilliant managers.

Why should 6th (It was actually fifth) be acceptable if you have finished fourth and then third the two seasons previous? This was coming on the back of a summer where our our signing was a free transfer with a dodgy past.

You're supposed to progress, not regress.

The opportunity was there to kick on from those two top-four finishes but it was pathetically squandered.
The regression was happening a board level

Im lead to beleive it was At that point in time that there was a number of financial restructures which came to light after Ashley took over and weren't identified during due diligence

The point is Sbr wasn't being backed in team building and that was the boards doing

Still the way mags go on you'd think Sbr was some sort of messiah yet the fact of the matter is no real protests manifested after his departure unlike keegan or houghton who achived far less after Sbr tenure
