Blur Return

they don't strike me as a stadium band...

Not sure if you mean in terms of scale/size, or sound, but can say I saw them at Glasto in 2009 and they were amazing in front of that crowd, which is probably bigger (or similar scale) to Stadium - can easily fill/entertain/perform to a stadium level imo.

more the spectacle really.....the likes of Muse (even thought I can't stand them) Metallica, Take that etc always put on a big show in stadiums...Blur have always struck me as a great band with a great sound...but not overly showy (is that a word)....

Yeah that's a reasonable comment in fairness. They aren't likely to have a big show like that. They're more along the lines of 'big anthemic' type stadium show, great music, great sound along with huge audience sing-along type of stadium.

Wonder if they bring Phil Daneils out for Parklife

Yep - went to their last reunion gigs at Hyde Park and they were incredible.

I was at Glastonbury 09 and it was as close as you can get to the perfect festival performance.

I worry that Wembley won’t suit them as normally it’s Hyde park with everyone standing , at the prices some of the seats at the back may be hard to sell

who sets prices? is it the bands management, or wembley themselves? with the big stadium acts (coldplay for example) their stage show is so big it doesnt really matter where you're sat - its a show... whereas with blur, i'm assuming the gig is a "music" gig, four blokes on stage with a few lights & a big screen?

I think the promoters compete and will offer Blur X amount for the amount of gigs they want to do. Then it's up to the promoters to get that cash in. Blur will be guaranteed a certain amount. I'm sure it's a little more complex than that but that's the general gist I think
