Bloody elastic jeans

Have bought diesel jeans for about 10+ years, then they started making most of them rediculously stretchy. I reckon most brands do it as it means you have to buy a replacement sooner

Need an alternative, might give nudie or Paul smith a try

I done 8 months with 1 pair of Nudies, they fuckin honked.

I cannot go that long breaking a pair in before washing. I can get as far as six weeks or so before the first wash but then they need a wash, invariably before getting taken up. Stupidly I’ve decided to get jeans taken up before the first wash and, lo and behold, they are then just a little bit short. Suffered that with a pair of Gustin jeans - wasn’t that arsed as they were only okay - but suffered the same with some Full Count ones. They were very good.

The whole working from home caper is ideal for breaking in jeans I find.
Buy british?

I’ve looked at that brand but not yet purchased. 160z is pretty heavy. I know they do other weights too.

I've had a pair of selvedge from those Community Clothing lads and lasses. British made and a bit of a bargain at about eighty quid. Not always in stock though as they use the factories when they're normally closed.

Bought a couple of pairs of those when the company was first set up with a Crowdfunder appeal. Still got them, good-value jeans. But as you say, often not in stock.

Uniqlo is still my go to for jeans, selvedge jeans for £40. With Nudie I find the yolk is too low so the yoke is too low on the style I like so they always get ruined way to quickly. A.P.C also do great jeans but 3 times the price of Uniqlo so might as well just get them.

Literally both of my suggestions, do I know you? Uniqlo for cheap option and APC for expensive

You can pick up Edwin and Nudie for under a hundred if you shop online. Not familiar with any other Japanese brands. Loads of high street shops do jeans as good quality as Levi for about half the price.
I made it over a year. Cheap vodka in a spray bottle helps kill the bacteria.

Mine looked like they’d be capable of standing up and walking away by themselves at the end of it though, so I thought they best go in the wash.
Did you get good fades in them? I've a pair of Edwin 55 I've worn about 30 times so probably around 200 hours and barely a hint of one. They don't smell fortunately as their is time between wears.

Yeah, I did. Could see the change of colour in the knee area and the pockets areas had the outline of my wallet and phone. Maybe you just need to spend a bit more time in them?

Maybe aye. Is it noticeable a lot more after soak washing them?
It’s been a good few years since I had a new pair if I’m being honest, but if I remember rightly, you kind of stop the wearing in process from happening as much after they’ve been washed so I’d hold off as long as you can without washing them, if that makes sense?

Yes I have done that. Maybe need more patience. I'm going to starch them i think too.

They’re really good jeans. Wore them nonstop for 18 months: really comfortable.
Bought a pair of 21oz Unbranded Brand from Jeanstore. They’re like armoured trousers but are developing nicely.
What fucks me off now is vanity sizing.
