Just had a gleg at my 501's, Dark Blue 0, Grey Wash 1%.Don't think 501s have any elastane in them.
Bought a pair of Wranglers recently to wear around the house and they're canny value and don't seem to have any elastane either. Good fit too.
I usually buy wrangler or Levi's jeans and have never noticed any elastic. Do you mean in the waistband or the denim itself is elasticated. I thought you had to show proof of age when buying elastic waist pants. To prove you're over 80.
Not me marra.Sounds like you need George.
Have you considered buying some chinos? What's happened??
I'm a no fuss bloke who hates shopping but likes gear & I used to just buy Levi 511 every year for ages. Pick a colour & sorted. Didn't even need to try em on.
Got a couple pairs & they're like fkin clown pants. Might as well have bought em from mothercare.
Took em back & lass is saying "ah they've all got elastic in to get a better fit". You can't buy any that haven't got stretchy stuff in ffs. For fkin fat yanks I bet.
Anyone know decent jeans that are actually jeans that I won't pay daft cash for? Mate buys all this crackers Japanese stuff that looks solid but I'm not forking out on way to 200 for a pair like.
Corduroy is another serviceable alternative i'm lead to understand.Have you considered buying some chinos?
You are very aware of the latest leg covering trends.Corduroy is another serviceable alternative i'm lead to understand.
Cowboy boots more likeOp wears blue denim boot cut jeans and reebok classics.
Is it not just the dated fit/style of 511s thatās the problem? I find them baggy particularly in the leg. Much prefer 512 slim taper. Better fit through the leg without being ridiculously skinny/tight. The added elastane in the material gives a nice flexibility imo. Mind having seen how the young uns wear jeans now Iām probably into dad jean territory. What's happened??

Love cords me.Corduroy is another serviceable alternative i'm lead to understand.
Try finding them, and let the rest of us know where to go please.I wouldnāt buy jeans with any sort of āstretchā in them. Just go for 100% cotton. They age so much better than those jeans with elastane in them.
Youāre clearly someone with refined tastes. How long did you manage to go before their first wash?Nudie or Edwin
There are plenty of good denim brands out there, many of which have been mentioned. Depends on budget but the likes of Edwin make good jeans. APC too. The Lee Selvedge 101s fit me well, currently wearing those. Hiut jeans are very good too although they are much more expensive (pockets seem to sit a bit low on my arse though). You can usually pick up Edwinās in the sales, loads of different styles on offer.Try finding them, and let the rest of us know where to go please.
