Blame Cattermole man not big Sam!

Cattermole had a good game. He was our best passer, best tackler and best leader. He was unfortunate with the goal (he was the only outfield player alert after we scored, tracking the play well) and silly for the yellow card.

With him on the park we were organised, competitive and Spurs weren't getting behind us. He went off and we went to pot, as is often the case without Cattermole on the park. He hasn't picked up a second yellow card for his last 20 bookings or something so unless he was injured it was a crap sub. Could quote a load of boring stats to support the argument, yet again, but will spare the board of that this time

Only picked up a 2nd yellow once since September 2010 and even that came after the game in the derby at St James' under O'Neill.

Sams tactics lost the game, although things may have been better had that daft shite Catts just hoofed the ball off the line.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, we need to keep Big Sam, but fuck me he makes some tragic howlers out there and people would be wise to recognise that

All managers make brainfarts that no-one else in the stadium can understand at times.

I dont think he would of either but I'm saying worst case scenario! 10 men or 11 with Rodwell - they are the same!

I get your point, just so annoyed with Sam, I totally agree by the way

If you are going to sub Catts when he is booked, just sell him.

Never ever seen Cattermole react like that when he has been subbed, he knew it was the wrong choice.

Couldn't have summed it up better but I will also add Catts had already made 2 very good tackles between his yellow card and him being subbed. Was an awful decision by the manager, the only changes we needed to make to make were further up the park

No point throwing facts about where Cattermole is concerned. For his detractors, one yellow automatically converts into a guaranteed red and one misplaced pass makes all of his completed passes obsolete.

Catts and MVila did their job today how can anyone blame Cattermole for that defeat?

Piss poor attempt to clear the ball off the line. School boy error. Get to half time 1 up and it's a different game.

Sam to blame for poor subs and change of formation but Cattermole made himself vulnerable

People have every right to criticise Sam for some of his decisions, (and not just today) whether it be starting with Danny Graham, changing the system when we looked ok and trying to play for the drawer or bringing in someone who hasn't played since I was a lad, in a high tempo game
Had he made subs and we went on to win, he would be rightly complimented, he has to take the blame for this one. Call them what you want, I couldn't give a shite when other managers have "brainfarts"

He was unlucky with the bounce yea he should have done better but things like that happen. Cattermole and MVila stopped Spurs playing through us once he went off MVila was fucked on his own.

Agree with most of this but.....

He wasn't unfortunate with the goal it was poor play and decision making. Head it, volley it but why the hell would you thigh it!!!

Fuck off. You didn't watch the match either. Ball hit at pace...

Without Catts we're a f***ing mess.

Bounce didn't come into it. Should have never gone with it with his knee. Poor decision from him. Head or volley was so much easier

He could have dealt with that better, and his yellow was silly. I've some sympathy for the goal though as the ball did spin up at him. That said, his body shape was wrong
