Blackburn/Sam Allardyce

At the time I was all for it. We got Rollover Ricky and escaped by the skin of our teeth. Blackburn got him and had the cigars out mid-april.

He hasn't modified his approach since, which means he'd probably have been out here pretty quickly.

he's all about percentages. Plays as low risk football as possible such as set piece orientated bypassing the midfield area with direct passing. They take as long at possible to take throw ins and free kicks. Mainly with the aim of lowering the pace of the game.

Awful to watch but it works and they'll still be in the Premiership at the end of the season so I suppose the end justifies the means.

this

at the time I would have loved his experience but with the benefit of hindsight and how far the club has come....

Does it really though? Like, obviously you need a balance between performance and results, but what's the point of playing the game if you're just going to play the most appalling, soul-free football you could imagine.

He's the most depressing manager in football. Good at what he does, but then again so was Hitler.

Never thought I would hear Allardyce and Hitler compared before

It doesn't shift season tickets but it keeps them up. The new owners will want top flight football first and performances second.

He is despressing and I'm glad he is nowhere near our club but his win ratio is pretty good and unless teams can out play them (we couldn't) then they'll continue to get results.
