Am I mistaken or mad? But I am sure I read somewhere, that the optimum charge for a battery is 40% - it lasts a lot longer than if it is fully charged. :?:

I have no idea. Have heard that many different things about phone and laptop batteries I don't know what to believe.

Bold, doesn't even last a day.

make sure wifi and bluetooth are turned off as advised and stick it on 2g only until you want to access the internet and then change it onto 2g&3g. these can be found under home screen-manage connections for bluetooth/wifi then choose mobile network options and switch it to 2g.

This might be a daft question but will I still get my emails and stuff?

Don't turn it on

Mine lasts a good 24 hours even when I'm using it a lot. Buy a brand new battery, charge it without turning it on for 20 hours or so and that might give it a new lease of life

Its a brand new phone, I charged for 16 hours when I got it.

yes you will still get emails, 3g is only needed to quicker data transfer speeds 2g aka GPRS will do fine for email.
the way a 3g network works is one of the main reasons your battery drains quicker than 2g.
