Do they? The last 3 FIFA’s could have just been patches that little changed. FIFA 19 will just have team, staff and kit updates which isn’t ground breaking computer programming. Ultimate Team will get a slight make over and as part of the advertising campaign EA will claim the next one has ‘advanced marking’ or some shit.
 
Can't believe people are still throwing their cash at these greedy *****. These, Ubishaft and EA don't get a penny of my hard earned. f***ing greedy leeches.

2 new maps that you need pass for.

This week's Black Ops 4 update added new icon to call out players who don't own the season pass - VG247

playlists in multiplayer.

The patch also added the two DLC maps, currently available only through the Black Ops Pass, to the regular map rotation in multiplayer. In other words, when those maps come up, players without the season pass will be kicked from the lobby.

To go along with this, Treyarch decided to create a yellow triangle icon with an exclamation mark to make it clear which players own and do not own the pass. This is shown to everyone in the lobby, so you can easily identify them

Dear yellow triangle friends - don’t let them bully you into buying the pass. There are far more of you then there are of us, and you’re not missing out because we can’t play the new maps either : Blackops4
 
If people feel ashamed for not having a season pass in a game they need to sort their priorities out :neutral:

This isn't new btw, they used to do this in the lobby years ago...basically telling you who had the map packs and who didnt.

Plus it's Activision, of course they do this. These are the people who made you watch others opening their loot boxes.

COD is pretty much the only game that doesn't release DLC maps for free to not split the player base.
Every single other game has caught on but they're still too greedy to not do it.

It’s got fuck all to do with Fortnite and that article stinks of being written by someone who knows nowt about the gaming world. People are getting fed up with EA and Activision releasing unfinished/chopped to bits games that require you to spend extra money in the hope of getting something good. Fortnite have maintained their ‘only cosmetic’ micro-transaction model (which I think is bullshit anyway, but that’s a different argument) but the aforementioned companies (and others) are actively selling the option to make the game less grindy, or out and out advantages over other online players. As long as the gambling mechanic you are paying to play pays off. You only need to look as far as Rockstar and Naughty Dog to see that ‘finished’ games do in fact sell well, and the ‘games as a service’ model really does suck. I really hope that their financial results are indicative of a rebelling customer base showing that they’re fed up with the cynical shit being peddled year in, year out.

Well said, Activison & EA only have themselves to blame for been greedy twats and releasing half completed games expecting you to fork out extra for additional content.
