Birmingham V Ipswich

Need to win 5 to have a hope, we need a real miracle but you never know. When it comes to SAFC we're probably just as likely to win all our games as lose them, if we go down the number of draws will have fucked us over teams around us.
Win on Monday and I will still believe tbh.

Massively deflated after that. Still 2 games away from getting out of it with just 7 remaining. I think Bolton may be the best chance of catching, particularly if Birmingham beat them on Tuesday (hopefully the extra days rest will help Bolton). Still think 43 points will be enough, but that's 4 wins or 3 wins and 3 draws and that will take some doing.

The one good thing is that there's a good chance that not one side we face will have anything to play for by the time we play them which is what I'm clinging on to.

Not bothered about fifth bottom tbf

But that just means we are literally putting every egg into the basket of catching Birmingham and as they still have Burton at home, many will think we have a better chance of catching someone like Bolton over them as Birmingham have a lot better players and now they have a reasonably competent manager, they are starting to put a few performances and more importantly, wins together.

I was far more confident of catching Barnsley with a 5 deficit AND a worse goal difference than I am of catching Birmingham with a 5 point deficit but better goal difference, because Birmingham are much more capable.

3 home games against Sheff Wed, Norwich and Burton are the games that are going to define if we stay up imo. Win them 3 and I think we will stay up. We've shown we are capable of picking results up away from home unexpectedly.

With about 5 home wins in 2 year i wouldnt say were that likely to win the lot mate!

Some of this is psychological I think. If the bottom 5 had all played at the same time as opposed to 3 phases of games, then we would be reflecting that we had moved from 5 points from safety with a massively worse goal difference (effectively 6 points) to 5 points from safety with a better goal difference. Not a big step I grant you, but still effectively a point nearer being able to escape.

A bit nearer 5th bottom as well.

Chin up lads, a lot to go for here. Hoping I still feel like this after Monday’s game

I think many got caught up in the excitement of last night & forgot Birmingham had a very winnable game in hand today.
