Birds collecting nest material.

It's the middle of winter and I've noticed some of the little birds with bits of straw in their beaks, heard blackbirds singing as well as other birds. Is it spring?

Birds build nests all year round and have offspring, not just in Spring

Just been watching a Blackbird gathering nesting material from my garden. You're a few weeks too early son, go out and enjoy yourself before the hard work starts.

Starting to see oystercatchers inland which is a sure sign spring is on it's way in this part of the world

Nest boxes are being claimed, we always put out the dog hair on the lawn.
Nuthatch is protecting his nesting hole in the tree and Blackbirds are active.
