Bilsdale mast


I bow you your superior knowledge. The one that came down has been up for 50 year or so. I’m guessing it wasn’t a rush job.
 
So it'll be 2 full months when the temporary mast is installed. You do wonder why not the final one. Ultimately, its just more segments joined together, isn't it?

Hmm, dunno. It depends on how high it will be, but even if we assume no change, then the weight of the equipment needs o be taken into account and more modern design codes.

Individual cans might be 2m in height and each needs a crane plus operatives to bolt together. That’s after they’ve secured steel (massive problem atm) and fabricated each section.

I think two months is a reasonably good achievement.
Can they not just twist loads of coat hangers together for a temporary mast?

Of course. Just need a tall lad to point it in the right direction and move it when it’s stormy.
 
Is everyone’s TV back working normally again? Mines hasn’t been the same since. Missing a few channels still.

Did anyone chase up the compo for this?
