Where do you liveWe turned the aerial to Pontop.
Did it work?
Someone asked me about it ages ago, but I didn't want to reply as I didn't have any experience with it

Yes like being back to the village I grew up in North West Durham. We are just off Junction 60 A1, but village before us has no Pontop reception, check url.Where do you live

I used to live in Grangetown, very close to coast. I had my aeriel pointed to Bilsdale as (presumably) Tunstall Hill blocked the signal from Pontop. How much of Sunderland has been affected by this carry on?
My aeriel is pointed in exactly the same direction and I'm right near the coast as well. They're tossing it off mate, using every excuse in the book.I used to live in Grangetown, very close to coast. I had my aeriel pointed to Bilsdale as (presumably) Tunstall Hill blocked the signal from Pontop.
It’s only a temporary fix. Reading the report and it’s possible the mast itself has been compromised which is a much larger long term operation to fix.
Hadn't realised it was entirely unrepairable. Not sure why they can't just whack a new replacement in asap now then? Most of the trouble seems to have been that they're not allowed on other parts of the land - so why didn't they knock it down ages ago and get the thing replaced prono?Boom! It’s gone.

Rather than faffing with another temporary strucure next week.
When did it burn though? Well over a month ago?I’d hazard it’s to do with the time needed to generate a up to date spec, RFQ then tender process.
The mast and internal gubbins will be old (with upgrades) but they should quite rightly take the opportunity to install new and modern equipment.
Take a look at the final frames of that video when the mast is on the moor. It’s not a small fabrication.

So it'll be 2 full months when the temporary mast is installed. You do wonder why not the final one. Ultimately, its just more segments joined together, isn't it?Yes, mid-August.
