Not the manager in control anymore but we've clearly spent a lot and finished 8th. If you're comparing last season to the Allardyce spell then the only people on planet Earth who's want the latter is a few off here.

Allardyce's Everton never conceded six goals in a home game for a start.
 
His side kept seven clean sheets in the premier league in the few months he was in charge, that included three 3-0 wins.
Up until Christmas, the football was diabolical, barring the win against the mags. What he did in the Southampton away game was absolutely criminal, the most negative decision I have ever seen in football, not just this club.
He admits he looks at the fixtures and plots which games he can probably win, the others don’t matter. I bet he’s won himself and his dodgy agent mates a fortune over the years by, let’s say, not trying to win.
