We are the 4th ranked international team in the world ya numpty. We’ve also got some of the brightest prospects coming through . England are a bloody good team .

Would probably be more impressive to win some trophies than trounce a load of teams in easy qualifying games to get the fifa rankings position up.

How on earth is managing a second/third tier international team the greatest accolade in football?

Also, he should still have handled himself properly. But the fat mess never does which is why he lasted one game before being peddled.
What a bizarre response .he left to manage his country ...mind the Mags up here don't like him either.

Can’t remember people moaning about his style of play here.

First few months were every bit as grim as advertised but at least when he realised that his preferred tactic wasn't working he changed things up and in general we were a much better side to watch from the City home game onwards last season.

Some selective memories on here. He did hit a purple patch at just the right time which got us safe but there were some pretty poor performances during his time and he got lucky that his hand was forced with Defoe. We may have kicked on the next season but who knows. Kone might still have thrown his toys out of the pram.

He was offered the England Job . The greatest accolade in football and something he had always dreamed about. He hardly left us for the Mags.

Not every day an Safc manager gets offered the National job...others must have thought he was doing well too..?

how did moyes take that team down?
I know at the time people called the players lazy but that wasn't it- they performed for Sam- Defoe was still scoring- we had a top quality goalkeeper- no one forced him to spunk 20 million on N'Dong and djillibodji
it's depressing to remember that M'villa was less than half of N'Dong's price and wanted to come

people saying Ross is worse than moyes or wanting moyes back need to give their head a shake
I’m sure Moyes was missing something like 7 of Sam’s first 18 players like

But but ...he's one dimensional , I read it on here.Would be the best manager in this league by a mile ..doubt he would come mind
However beat Pompey go on a run and it might not matter ..haway Jack pull your finger out and get the lads winning !

You can't blame him for taking the England job as it was his dream job. He would never come back to Sunderland when we are in league 1. We don't have the money to pay him what he would want but he would get us back in the premiership quicker than anyone else
