Well he was meant to be focused on attacking too. That's the point in wing backs.

First Goal is probably Jones' fault for me

True, my point, not well put across, he is good going forward, but it should not be at the expense of abdicating all defensive responsibilities.

Lens will definitely be in trouble. You can see already he doesn't want to be here.
I took dogs abuse for saying he was a lazy twat the first time I seen him live. The face people think we could afford to carry somebody like that is staggering.

He's also putting weight on as the season goes

Bit off topic but anyone know how bad Catts' injury was? Didn't think we'd miss him until I saw Rodwell come on for him yesterday

I actually still think we can. Off the front man at home. That would mean sacrificing any potential partnership between Defoe and Fletcher however.

He looks like he doesn't want to defend at times. Yesterday he just jogged back anytime he had to get back and defend. Rodwell is another. When the game is slipping away he just hides.

I'm not sure we did or will miss catts. There was a passage of play in the first half where one of the everton lads ran about 70 yards with the ball and all catts did was run roughly in the same direction. No pressure on the ball, waving his arms ar people to come and put some pressure on the player he should have been closing down. Hes too slow for this league unless he plays in Poyet style formation where hes protected all around him.

He's definitely put weight on like

Lens Il be fucked got no fight in him, same with ola

Was a big statement dropping Lens and not even considering bringing him on at HT when we were behind.

This club, though. Just highlights the complete catastrophe it is from top to bottom, and the total disregard of any sort of long-term planning. Let your interim manager spend most of the budget on one player, only for him to be bombed out 10 games later as his successor doesn't rate him. Spend the rest of the budget on Borini to be the focal point of attack - ten games later we're scrapping around the free agent market looking for a striker that will fit into Allardyce's style.

The culpable parties got to be Congerton and Short. This DoF model has been a consistent failure

@YoungSunEcho: Big Sam: “Those who are going to fight and produce performances that you want, I’m going to stick with those."

Said he has already started to make his mind up over players. Who do we reckon then?

Think Lens and PVA could be in trouble personally.

From the minute Allardyce was announced I thought that Lens wouldn't last much longer as a first team regular.

He might get some games against certain sides at home, but that's about as much as I can see.

I thought PVA was out of the side on merit, rather than attitude. I can't decide about him - a player at his age and position in the game should be busting a nut to improve his game, and although he seems willing to put the legwork in, he just doesnt seem able to learn anything.

PVA comment from me came with seeing Sam moan about players not tracking back, PVA is terrible for that.

I'm not surprised when he looks a stone heavier than when he joined
