Big Sam for England

Can't see it, the rest of the country would go mental, with his long ball reputation and his meat and potato persona, he just would be seen as cool enough.

There's a lot in his book about how he could have done a good job for England, and how he didn't get it when Tufty was appointed because they didn't have PowerPoint so he couldn't give his presentation. He prepares well and motivates on the day, it's a job he could do.

In some ways it may have come at a bad time as he's finally back at a club where he feels valued.

However, I hope they get Southgate in quickly.

There was an article a few weeks ago in the Telegraph saying that - assuming Woy and England had a bad tournament - Sam would be the obvious choice to take over, and I agree 100% he is, but I also hope 100% that the arseholes at the FA will be swayed by the southern, bedwetting media, with their 'West Ham way' anti Sam mentality and go for somebody with a fraction of his tactical and organisational nous and pick somebody the Murdoch press would prefer.

If Sam was offered the job he would jump at it and rightly so - I just hope he isn't offered it and that the media get their way on this occasion!

I'm pretty worried must admit, and he'd go in a heartbeat, let's not kid ourselves. Has always been very vocal about the England job being his dream.

I don't think he will be even consulted but if they offer him the job no amount of money we offer him will get him to stay. He'll be off to the England job in a heartbeat, its his stated ambition

apparently Hodgson Son of Hodge jotted down a 1,000 word resignation letter in the bogs puts the Mini design in perspective
