"Bids lodged for players"

We have to get the wage bill down from £83 million + (it was that in 2015-2016 - who knows what it has been this season!)
We need to reduce it by half. We need to bring in players who will have to prove what they are worth.
What a lovely change it will be to see players playing for SAFC, putting in real effort and commitment.
Somehow, I suspect there will be a lot more pain before that happens
This will happen due to the compulsory relegation wage reduction clause of at least 45% in every players contract. High earners like Borini Lens Kone and Khazri will be sold and teams wanting them will be able to offer them terms that are less lucrative than what they are on at present but more lucrative than what they will get with us in the championship.
We have a chance to rebuild a good competitive squad with what we decide to keep along with a few well scouted signings a few loans a few freebies and a fair few young uns from our own ranks.
It's not all doom and gloom.

Just can't see it happening, if we have learned our lessons as the club have stated we have then we will be looking to sign players on 10 to 15k pw not 30k+. Sorry if that upsets people but we just can't afford to pay PL wages and get shot of the debts.

Dubious - looking at the current wages, adding in relegation clauses, and assuming that the aim will be to bring in players at less than 50% of the current average pay, I'd be thinking lower league targets who could possibly step up.
He's been scouting Championship players for weeks.

10 more N'Dong's

M:cool:yes
Good player and has every chance to be a top 10 defensive midfielder in 5 years according to my mate who's closely linked to certain folks who know these things.

But aye, written off by the wise SMB at the age of 22.

Not gonna get much for those wages these days!

Naismith would do a job for us next year. So we have bids in, even tho we can not register signings till July 1st?

If Naismith is failing to look past players he's already worked with and Naismith is one of his targets you just know next season is going to be as bad as this one. Signing crap like Naismith has gotten us into the mess we are in the first place.

An average player, earning over the odds with no resale value.

Norwich are considering letting him go for free. They signed him for circa £9m a little over a year ago. It says it all really.
