Someone on the BBC live text compared him to Onions. Someone who knows their craft, and won't be tempted to suddenly and pointlessly start banging it in short!
 
He's nowhere near as good as Onions.
I don't think that was their point, it was more the fact that Broad and Plunkett weren't pitching it up, and weren't getting wickets. When they did pitch it up, they did.

Whereas Kumar simply did what he does and got success, as Onions would have done.

Aye, makes sense that in fairness. Great point made by Aggers today in that Anderson and Broad are really out of nick.

Agree. This team needs an Angus Fraser - 6 balls, hitting top of off stump. Persistence beats resistance. Modern cricket seems to be more and more about being "funky" with field settings and bowling plans. Tried and tested methods of hitting line and length stand the test of time as evidenced by Kumar
