Make sure your notice period ends at an inconvenient time too. I waited so mine fell right at the month end and in exchange for me staying an extra week they wrote off the educational support money I'd have owed them back. It was a good 2 or 3 months wages worth too

When I left my first charity, I'd just come back off honeymoon and handed it in to my then boss - who was a tit.
This was made even better by finding out I only had a 2 week notice period despite being there for 8 years.

Mine was similar, tried to make me work 3 months notice until i produced a contract saying 4 weeks. Wasn’t popular that day

In contrast, I'm currently working a 2 month notice, which seems a bit excessive to me!
