If it's a really hot summer day, I may even venture as far as cider and ice.
When I say cider, I mean Magners, which apparently has about 17 types of apple in it.
I find that to be bollocks, but it's cold and tastes better in the sun

Agreed, but my taste buds work. If I order a Hendricks anywhere I make a point of telling them to use lime and not to pollute it with cucumber.

Nah Cucumber with Hendricks.

I don't really subscribe to the different fruits for different gins theory. Lime goes with any, though I did get a Monkey 47 with orange in once that was nice. Lime is the universal accompaniment. I'm not a fan of cucumber generally but I honestly think it ruins a Hendricks, it's too strong.

Fair one. Although Lime is much stronger in flavour than Cucumber...

Apple works well too with a few different Gins.
