As an artifact of the linear speed of the outside of a cd compared to the inside there is a step change usually around 27 minutes of run time or ~7 tracks. This means that on the disk there is a physical gap or blank space usually between tracks 7 and 8 where there's nothing actually written to the disk. That bit.
