One that sticks in my mind is Danny Murphy against Charlton in 2005. Absolutely ran the show from start to finish.

Standing ovation and he returned the gesture with applauding us. Class moment that. It was after he announced he was leaving Arsenal at the end of the current season.
Winter 2014 ? I always remember it because he was outstanding that nightSergio Aguero for me
My granda's been following Sunderland for many many years and he always says "he played like the ball was tied to his boots that night"
Aye thats the oneWinter 2014 ? I always remember it because he was outstanding that night
Yeah that was the 3-0 in 2006 he got applauded off.
I'm sure in the 4-0 in 2003 when Ljunberg got a hat trick, Arsenals last goal or two got applause. We'd been down a long time and watched some dross that people just generally appreciated fantastic football.
Love the SMB like.
Henry, Ronaldo, Hazard, Deco and Alan Wright
HenryExcluding Ronaldo, who's the player that's impressed you the most at the SOL?
Probably Giroud for me when Arsenal beat us 3-1. He just seemed to float on air. Effortless almost. Every touch was buttery smooth. Technically an incredible player.
This, he was a level above anything I had seen before that nightDeco
He absolutely pulled us apart.Hazard
Henry, Ronaldo, Hazard, Deco and Alan Wright
Unplayable marra,he was on another planet that day,he was like Johan Cruyff. He absolutely pulled us apart.
I always liked Danny Murphy as a player, I think we had been in for him before he moved to Charlton, would have been a class signing for us.Henry and Rooney for me.
Honourable mention which may sound daft but still remember the first game of the season one year we were promoted back in the Prem when we lost to Charlton and Danny Murphy was a different class, ran rings around us. Scored a free kick too IIRC
Was that not Alan Hutton?Little baldy LB that played for Villa (Alan Wright?). Absolutely terrorised us when they came here on New Years Day early 2000's. Arca was playing on the right for some reason and couldn't get anywhere near him. Ran up and down the wing all day. Fast little bugger.
Nearly lost my toes that day it was so cold. Took me 4 hours to warm up when I got home. All for a bastard 1-1 draw.
I remember Collymore putting in an incredible performance but I thought it was for Forest , thought it was at Roker Park also.Stan Collymore playing for Southend.
Adnan Januzaj for Man Utd (yeah, I know!)
