Best opposing player you've seen at the SOL?

Henry and Rooney for me.

Honourable mention which may sound daft but still remember the first game of the season one year we were promoted back in the Prem when we lost to Charlton and Danny Murphy was a different class, ran rings around us. Scored a free kick too IIRC

At the SOL, either Roy Keane in the Xmas 2-2 when he dragged them back into the game after we scored 2 in the 1st 5 minutes, or Hazard in the 3-4 when he just took the piss,
At Roker probably Dalgleish in an early 80s Liverpool stroll 0-2 if i remember.

Little baldy LB that played for Villa (Alan Wright?). Absolutely terrorised us when they came here on New Years Day early 2000's. Arca was playing on the right for some reason and couldn't get anywhere near him. Ran up and down the wing all day. Fast little bugger.

Nearly lost my toes that day it was so cold. Took me 4 hours to warm up when I got home. All for a bastard 1-1 draw.

Whole ground clapped him off.

He was genuinely suprised after ripping us a new one
Standing ovation and he returned the gesture with applauding us. Class moment that. It was after he announced he was leaving Arsenal at the end of the current season.

The Thierry Henry performance at the SOL was one of the best performances I’ve ever seen in the flesh.

The fact almost 40 thousand SAFC fans applauded him off spoke volumes.

It was a brilliant performance and in his last season I believe.

Shearer has the goals record but Henry was miles above him technically.

Henry the obvious one for me. Can’t remember which game it was, but Anelka was unplayable and i remember coming away thinking he was top class
